Background

John Pagels, professor emeritus, retired in spring 2008 and remains active in the department as an adjunct instructor. He formerly was curator, and initiated the 16,000 specimen VCU Mammal Collection, now under ownership of the Virginia Museum of Natural History in Martinsville, VA.
